Launched in the UK at the beginning of 2005, RESTYLANE® Vital is a new NASHA gel manufactured by Q-Med (now part of Galderma), the maker of the popular dermal fillers RESTYLANE®, RESTYLANE® Touch, RESTYLANE® SubQ and RESTYLANE PERLANE® ; aimed at a whole new approach to skin rejuvenation.
It is targeted at a broad range of treatment areas including the face, neck, décolletage (the area between the neck and breasts) and hands; designed to replenish the hyaluronic acid lost through ageing, hence hydrating the skin and improving its elasticity and tone.
The recommended injection technique is the micro-puncture technique that involves injecting very small amounts of RESTYLANE® Vital into the deep dermis, about 1- 2cm apart. Once injected, the NASHA gel flows smoothly and distributes evenly in the skin.
The natural hydrating properties of RESTYLANE® Vital also make it well suited to all skin types, whether skin is dry or oily.
The RESTYLANE® range of products has a proven track record of safety with more than two million treatments across 70 countries, and FDA approval. RESTYLANE® Vital also obtained European CE certification in 2004 for the indication for hydration of the skin by injections.
The two products RESTYLANE® Vital and Vital Light are collectively marketed as RESTYLANE® Skinboosters.
A new product just targeted at the lip area called RESTYLANE® Lip Refresh has also joined the RESTYLANE® Skinboosters family.
RESTYLANE® Skinboosters are made from Q-Med’s patented NASHA gel, with no extra additives. They also come with or without 0.3% lidocaine as a local anaesthetic.
How is Restylane® Vital made?
By bacterial fermentation from streptococci bacteria.
Is a skin test required before Restylane® Skinbooster treatment?
No allergy test needed.
Is Restylane® Vital temporary or permanent?
Hyaluronic acid is completely broken down within the skin over a period of months, eventually leaving no trace of the filler.
Should be used by
Restylane® Skinboosters should be used by trained members of the medical profession only.
Not to be used in
Individuals with a known hypersensitivity to hyaluronic acid.
RESTYLANE® Skinboosters should not be used in or near areas where there is active skin disease, inflammation or related conditions.
RESTYLANE® Skinboosters should not be injected into an area where a permanent implant has been placed.
Duration of effect
This depends upon your age and lifestyle as well as the correct placement of the product by a practitioner.
Generally, two to three treatments every fourth week are recommended initially, followed with maintenance treatments approximately every four to six months for Vital and Vital Light.
RESTYLANE® Lip Refresh results are expected to last for up to 6 months.
Reported side effects of Restylane® Skinboosters
After the injection of RESTYLANE® Vital, some common injection related reactions might occur. These reactions include transient erythema (redness), swelling, pain, itching, discolouration or tenderness at the injection site. Typically resolution is spontaneous, within one or two days after injection into the skin.
Additionally, temporary palpable lumpiness has been noted after injection in some patients.
Localised reactions thought to be of a hypersensitivity nature have been reported in about 1 in every 10,000 treated patients. These have consisted of swelling at the injection. Redness, tenderness and rarely acneform papules may occur.
The reactions have started either shortly after injection or after a delay of 2-4 weeks and have generally been described as mild to moderate and self-limiting, with an average duration of 2 weeks.
In addition, rare cases (less than I in 15,000 treatments) of granuloma formation, superficial necrosis and urticaria have been reported.
Lip fillers are the perfect way to add extra volume and plumpness to lips which may be lacking in shape or elasticity.
Lip fillers deliver almost immediate results (within 48 hours) by enhancing the lips’ natural shape and plumpness by using a medically developed solution, which is injected into the lips.
Lips are an important part of facial beauty. For many people, fuller and more sensuous lips come high on their wish list. These can be created using material naturally found in the body. A simple, safe, temporary dermal filler treatment can add volume and definition which can enhance small, thin lips. The procedure can also balance out asymmetric lips or reduce the appearance of those fine, vertical lines.
Which part of the lip can be enhanced?
Lip enhancement can be performed at many different areas of the lips :
Vermilion border or lip outline - for creating definition, width and improve lipstick bleeding lines
Lip augmentation targeting the fleshy part of the upper and lower lip – for volume, pout and fullness
Cupids bow definition – adds definition and contouring
Oral commissures or lines going down from the sides of the mouth – for a younger and happy look
Marionette lines (sad lines from corner of lips downward) – also known as puppet lines
What does the procedure involve?
Prior the treatment : Topical anaesthetic will be applied for 15-30 minutes prior the treatment to make the area numb
The procedure : Dermal filler is injected at precise locations into your skin. The doctor will then massage to smooth the product. During the procedure, you are fully awake. You will be given a mirror to hold to enable you to see the results as the doctor completes the treatment.
Post treatment : You should avoid touching or applying make up on the treated area for 6 hours in order to prevent infection. Specific post treatment instructions will be given to you on the day of your treatment by our Clinic Coordinator
The results are immediate and last from 6-12 months. As the results are relatively temporary, adjustments can be made as your face changes over time and you will always retain a natural look
Is the procedure painful?
We understand the lips are a sensitive area. A range of anesthesias, such as an ice pack, numbing cream and dental nerve block can be provided depend upon your preference. In addition, we use the products which contain anaesthetic, therefore the treatment is relatively comfortable. Our doctors are all highly experienced in this procedure and will ensure to make your treatment as comfortable as possible
Will I see the results immediately?
After the injection, the lips often become a little swollen. This means that the result immediately after the treatment may not be the final result. The swelling typically resolves spontaneously within a couple of days. To achieve the result you want, it is recommended to have a touch-up treatment 2 to 4 weeks after the initial session. This will also add to the duration of the treatment effect
How long will the results last?
The result generally last between 6 to 12 months. The longevity of these products is variable and each individual may obtain a different result. A plan for regular follow-up treatments to maintain the initial result can be created for you. Our treatment provides a long-lasting but not permanent result leaving you the option of refining your treatment in tune with changing taste and fashion
What is a dermal filler?
Dermal fillers are materials that are frequently used to correct scarring, wrinkles, and other depressions in the skin. They are often a kind of soft tissue designed in such a way that enables injection into the skin for purposes of improving the appearance. Generally, they are made of several types of materials of synthetic, man-made and natural categories. They have been developed into various standards depending on the level of usage
Which type of dermal filler is used to for lip enhancement?
The most common dermal filler used for the lip area is Hyaluronic acid (such as Restylane and Juvederm)
Hyaluronic acid is one of nature’s most versatile and fascinating substances. It is found throughout the body as well as in most other living organisms. It has many functions, for example, giving the skin elasticity, providing our skin with volume and also giving it a youthful appearance. Restylane and Juvederm are sterile gels consisting of non-animal, cross-linked, hyaluronic acid (HA) and are created in a laboratory. They contain no human or animal DNA and have the best safety profile of all the fillers currently on the market as it is the only type of filler that is reversible. These products are FDA approved for use in the nasolabial fold and are used “off-label” in other areas
Who should NOT use Dermal filler?
Do not use if you are pregnant or breast feeding
What are the possible medical side effects of a dermal filler like Juvederm or Restylane?
If you’ve previously had cold sores around the mouth (facial herpes simplex) , the treatment might provoke an outbreak. Be sure you have a supply of the oral tablets (prescription) Valtrex, Famvir or acyclovir.
Do not use if you are pregnant or nursing because these products have not been tested for safety in pregnancy or nursing.
What are the possible cosmetic side effects?
You may have swelling for 24-72 hours, especially with injections in the lips. It is recomended to avoid planning social events for 48 hours
After the treatment(s) some common injection-related reactions might occur, such as swelling, redness, pain, itching, discoloration and tenderness at the injection site. These typically resolve spontaneously within 2 to 10 days
Mild bruising or a slight blush might appear at the injection site immediately following treatment and may last for 2-10 days
How can I avoid bruising?
To avoid swelling and bruising, you should:
Not take aspirin, exedrin, ibuprofen, aleve or advil for 1 week before and 2 days after treatment. Tylenol is always fine
Not take Vitamin E (multivitamin ok) or St. John’s Wort for 2-3 days before or after
Avoid exercise except for walking for 24 hours after the procedure
Take arnica tablets up to 2 weeks prior to the treatment

Cheeks are a very important feature of the mid-face and people blessed with a full and curve cheeks tend to have a more youthful look. As we age, the cheeks lose volume, flatten and droop, making one look aged and tired. In addition, the deflated and drooping cheeks lead to the formation of jowls (the sag around the chin area), and nasolabial folds (the line from the corner of the nose to the corner of the mouth). All these drooping skin changes further aggravate the aging look.
Restoring volume and enhancing the cheeks with cosmetic fillers is therefore necessary when we are rejuvenating the face. Fillers can be used to add volume to the cheeks, lifting the skin and restoring the shape while adding height to the cheekbones. In general, high cheekbones and beauty often go hand in hand. Besides beautifying the cheeks, filler injections to the mid face can help improve some of the skin sagging affecting the lower portion of the face.
In summary, cheek enhancement aims to achieve the following:
Restoring the volume and the contour of the mid face and giving the cheek a more youthful projection
Help lifting the sagging nasolabial folds and jowls
What is Cheek Filler treatment like?
Cheek filler injection is usually done on outpatient basis and Dr Wong prefers using one of the following fillers: Juvederm Voluma, Restylane Perlane or Sculptra. All these fillers are FDA approved and HSA registered
Topical anesthesia or local anesthesia will be administered to make the procedure as comfortable as possible for the patient. Once anesthesia is achieved, the area to be treated will be cleaned with antiseptic. Dr Wong may either inject the fillers into the cheeks using a cannula method or needle method. The amount of filler required will vary from person to person, depending on the amount of volume loss to begin with, and the degree of enhancement desired. The whole procedure takes 15-30 minutes.
What should I expect after treatment?
The result of cheek enhancement is immediately visible. In most cases, makeup may be immediately reapplied if desirable. You may resume normal activities but avoid massaging the treated area for 1 -2 weeks.
Sometimes, there may be a slight redness or swelling of the skin. This usually disappears after half a day or by the following day. Bruises may sometimes occur when the needle injection method is used and it may take 3 to 7 days for the bruise to disappear.
A tear trough filler treatment is an instant and natural looking correction to hollows under the eyes. Eye hollows can develop from a young age, and are caused by genetics, lack of sleep, stress and poor diet. Hollows under the eyes can make you look tired and aged even when you’ve had plenty of sleep.
Tear trough filler treatment is available in the UK from botonics at our prestigious Harley Street clinic, in the heart of London’s private medical district.
A tear trough enhancement is an advanced treatment, and needs to be done by an experienced specialist to reduce the risk of lumpiness, excessive bruising and other complications. At botonics, we have developed techniques that produce an instant, natural result with minimal discomfort and risks.
Our clients who have a correction to the eye hollows are extremely satisfied, because this condition often develops early ahead of any other signs of ageing. By making a simple correction to this area the client’s overall appearance is restored to their youthful looking self.
The Tear Trough Treatment
At your free consultation, the specialist will review your detailed medical history and advise whether a tear trough filler treatment is appropriate for you. Most people are keen to have their treatment as soon as possible. We are usually able to do the treatment on the same day as your consultation if you wish to proceed, but there is never any obligation to do so.
Your specialist will then apply a fast acting topical anaesthetic, and then wait for it to take full effect (about 30 minutes). We use the latest blunt cannulas to do the treatment. Blunt cannulas are safer, less uncomfortable and cause less bruising that the cheaper traditional sharp needles. Please note, however, that in rare circumstances (i.e. less than 5%) we need to use a needle for tear trough treatments. This is when the filler needs to be placed in very particular places. There is a higher risk of bruising when we need to use needles.
We find that Restylane seems to work best and last the longest for correcting eye hollows. An enhancement usually takes 2.0ml or more of Restylane. Our technique involves placing the dermal filler very deep, which reduces the risk of lumpiness on the surface and is also a safer approach. In addition to the topical anaesthetic, we also normally use a dermal filler than contains an anaesthetic which further reduces discomfort (though it can result in more swelling than non-anaesthetic fillers). The injections only take about 10 – 20 minutes.
Tear trough enhancements tend to last longer than treatments to other areas of the face because there is less movement in the area to break down the product. Depending on your metabolism, a Restylane tear trough enhancement will last 8 – 12 months or longer. The filler is gradually broken down over time and safely eliminated through the body’s natural metabolic processes.
What should I expect after treatment?
We use only brand-name, gold standard fillers as manufactured and approved for use in the UK. Beware of cut-price treatments that use generic fillers from India or China. At botonics, we take a full hour to administer our Dermal filler treatments which means the topical anaesthetic we use has time to take effect. Our cosmetic filler treatments are administered by qualified medical specialists who are experienced in the treatment of facial lines and wrinkles.
A gentle and effective alternative to the pain and discomfort of surgery, using dermal fillers to improve the shape of your nose with immediately visible results. Dermal filler can be used to even out bumps, improve the shape of and sometimes straighten the nose. Without the surgical downtime, general anaesthetic, recovery period, potential complications and expense of a surgical nose job, the liquid rhinoplasty is rapidly becoming the go-to procedure for lots of men and women. 30 Minute Nose Job
What is being treated?
Non-Surgical Rhinoplasty corrects the nose using long lasting dermal fillers without the need for costly surgery. Fillers can be used to improve the look of a variety of noses. The most common problem that people seek treatment for is the Dorsal bump; this is the classic bump on the bridge of the nose that can give it a hook like appearance.
It is also possible to lift the tip of the nose, by injecting the base of the tip with filler, the nose is given more support and the droop in the tip is lessened.
Non-Surgical Rhinoplasty is commonly used to correct complications that can arise from surgical nose jobs. our treatments are bespoke to you meaning our practitioners will never give you a result that doesn’t suit you, even if that means refusing treatment altogether sometimes. Non-Surgical Rhinoplasty can achieve dramatic results in a very short period of time so it is important to prepare yourself for the fact that your face may look very different. We will give you a full overview of what to expect from your treatment during your consultation process.
Dermal filler removal is an advanced procedure where a specially-formulated enzyme is used to selectively and precisely dissolve undesirable fillers. Following a small injection into the area to be corrected, the enzyme acts within minutes to dissolve the unwanted filler restoring the original facial contours. The desired level of removal can usually be achieved with careful monitoring of the enzyme, with larger doses resulting in complete elimination of the filler from the implantation site.If you have had dermal fillers placed incorrectly, excessively or unevenly, then please visit us for a free consultation.
What are the main reasons for reversal/correction of dermal fillers?
1) Overdone lips and cheeks - Practitioners who are inexperienced commonly create overdone lips and cheeks. Lips or cheeks that are uneven or asymmetrical can be terribly upsetting and correction can be a key step towards looking – and feeling - normal again.
2) Lumps and bumps - Lumps are possible after any filler injection but they are not always a problem. Most lumps will go away with aggressive massage and even when they don’t go away completely, they are not usually visible. Lumps are most commonly seen in the lips, around the mouth, and under the eyes, and sometimes dissolving the filler is the only way to make a troublesome lump go away.
3) Under-eye filler correction - Placing dermal fillers under the eyes is a very specialised treatment that should only be performed with the utmost care and precision by a skilled and experienced practitioner. This, unlike more commonly undertaken procedures such as laughter line fillers, is a harder and more delicate procedure. Under eye fillers or eye bag fillers can take a long time to dissolve and therefore rubbing the area alone may not be sufficient. If you feel that you have lumps under your eyes, or excessive bagginess caused by fillers or if you feel that your eye fillers have shifted, then we can correct them and dissolve them effectively.
The easy reversibility of these commonly used dermal fillers provides a comforting safety margin that ensures such fillers are associated with almost no permanent adverse events or unwanted results. This benefit contrasts strongly with the inflexibility and irreversibility of permanent fillers. We offer a correction / removal service for patients that have received a dermal filler at another practise and are unhappy with the results.

Mesotherapy involves tiny superficial injections of a potent skin rejuvenating cocktail of vitamins, minerals, anti-oxidants, and amino acids. When this cocktail is injected across the skin barrier to where it can have an affect, it promotes the production of collagen and elastin, all while stimulating the skin’s metabolism.
Mesotherapy is also known as "skin-prick rejuvenation," as it helps give your skin the boost it needs to look brighter and feel firmer, as well as fade the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines.
Mesotherapy treatments take approximately 30 minutes to administer. Treatments are slightly uncomfortable; an anesthetic treatment can be used to manage discomfort. Initial treatments begin at 3 sessions, scheduled one month apart. Maintenance sessions are scheduled 3 to 4 times per year.
Medicetics were the first clinic to use the advanced meso-gun and have been using it for over 9 years in London. The meso-gun has the advantage of using a very fine needle to thousands of times at a rapid rate that makes this a painless treatment as opposed to the hundreds of injections that can be performed manually.
1. Mesotherapy rejuvenates from the inside.
Unlike topical treatments – which treat the top layer of skin – mesotherapy works from within the skin to promote collagen, elastin, and cellular turnover.
2. Stimulated skin metabolism = tighter, firmer skin!
Many clients report feeling tighter and more contoured after a mesotherapy treatment. As the skin’s metabolism increases, skin tightens, making the treatment area look slimmer and smaller.
3. Mesotherapy can be used for multiple trouble spots.
Mesotherapy can be used for a variety of trouble spots. Micro-injections of hyaluronic acid can be used to plump the hands, neck, and chest area for firmer, more youthful-looking skin.
4. The treatment is surprisingly old!
Is mesotherapy a new treatment? Actually, these injections were pioneered by French physician Dr. Michel Pistor in 1952, making this therapy over 60 years old.
5. Mesotherapy can complement your other skin treatments.
Mesotherapy can be used as a complement to other skin care treatments, including skin peels, Botox injections, and dermal fillers.
You may be a good candidate for mesotherapy if:
You have dull or tired skin
You’re committed to maintaining regular mesotherapy sessions
You’re not allergic to the ingredients within your mesotherapy injection
You have realistic expectations for your procedure
Mesotherapy takes about 30 minutes to administer. During this procedure, multiple micro-injections are administered directly to the problem area with a specially designed delivery system. An extremely fine needle is used to penetrate to the middle layer of the skin. The aim is to replace vitamins, minerals, and amino acids that are lost due to the aging process.
Patients can return to their normal activities immediately after treatment. Some swelling and bruising may occur at the injection site; these side effects tend to dissipate within the first week after treatment.

BOTOX® is the market-leading brand name for botulinum toxin, which can be used
cosmetically to relax wrinkles and temporarily lessen the appearance of lines on the face.
Wrinkle relaxing injections are suitable for almost anyone who has wrinkles or fine skin lines that they wish to reduce the appearance of. Lines and wrinkles are unfortunately just a natural sign of ageing but they can also develop through excessive exposure to the sun.
If you’re considering Wrinkle Relaxing Injections, the most important considerations should be your safety, the expertise of your practitioner and the products being used. Our most important consideration is YOU – your safety, your results and our relationship with you. Choosing a highly qualified practitioner is key to receiving a safe treatment and achieving the best possible results. Wrinkle Relaxing Injections are the most popular non-invasive treatment in the UK and worldwide, with over one million people having undergone it.
By coming to us for your Wrinkle treatments, you can look forward to excellent results, knowing that you’re in the safest hands out there.
How does it work?
The role of Botox® is to block the release of acetylcholine temporarily. This is a chemical substance released by our nerve endings that sends signals to our muscles to enable them to contract. The anti-wrinkle injections block this signal to stop the contraction of targeted muscles. This stops the muscles from being over active and subsequently prevents the formation of lines and wrinkles.
Botox® is injected directly into the muscles responsible for contraction. We use an ultra-fine needle which is virtually painless, so you won’t need anaesthetic. For example, in the glabellar region between the eyebrows, the strong corrugator muscles are injected to prevent the appearance of frown lines and deep wrinkles. The anti-wrinkle injection tends to take no more than 10-15 minutes. The onset of the effects of Botox® takes no more than seven to ten days and can last up to three to four months depending on the individual. Repeat treatments are recommended three to four times per year.
It’s ideal for worry lines on the forehead, crow’s feet around the eyes and frown lines between the eyes. We are specialists in advanced procedures including the lower face and neck and in the correction of asymmetry. Excessive sweating, also known as Hyperhidrosis is also treated with Botox®, with results lasting from 6-12 months.
Botox® and fillers are ideal treatments to correct asymmetry on the face such as uneven eyebrows, lip imbalance, hair lip and scars. Crooked or misshapen noses can be straightened and softened by a simple non-invasive filler procedure. This is often referred to as non-surgical rhinoplasty.
What results can I expect?
Our clinical team are all experts at achieving gentle, natural looking results – helping you age the way you want to. During the consultation, your practitioner will discuss realistic treatment results with you. The treatment can take up to 2 weeks to take affect after the initial placement.
We invite you to come back to the clinic 2 weeks after the initial treatment to check your results and that you are happy with your experience with us. Common results include the reduction in static lines as well as smoother looking skin.
How many treatments will I need?
Botox® usually lasts for approximately 3 – 4 months and we recommend that you have ongoing treatments to maintain the results. This is due to the natural re-connection of the signal between the muscles and nerve endings. If you are using this treatment for preventative measures, you are training your muscles to contract less, and therefore you allow the skin to prevent wrinkles from forming.

Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) therapy, also known as the 'Vampire Facelift' or 'Dracula Therapy' and including the brands Regen, GLOPRP, Angel Lift and Cellenis works on the basis that the body’s own natural healing powers may slow and even reverse the ageing process; it’s a revolutionary repair system that places growth factors in the exact location where we want the skin to repair and rejuvenate itself. The treatment involves harvesting platelets from the patient’s own blood in order to inject them into problem skin areas, starting with the extraction of a minimal amount of the patient’s blood. This is then placed in a centrifuge to spin down the blood which separates the red blood cells from the platelet rich plasma. Platelets contain a high content of “growth factors” – proteins that help to heal injured tissue or damaged skin. Upon re-injection the platelets release their growth factors which trigger surrounding cells to proliferate, in turn stimulating repair, increasing volume and rejuvenating the skin.
What is Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) Therapy and how does it work?
PRP therapy involves harvesting platelets from the patient’s own blood in order to inject them into problem skin areas, giving it the nicknames Vampire Facelift and Dracula Therapy. Before the procedure, a small amount of blood is taken from the patient and put into a centrifuge, where the blood is spun in order to separate the red blood cells from the platelet plasma. The platelet plasma, which is the component of the blood that is known for being highly effective in treating burns and skin injuries, is then injected into the chosen area, where it plumps up the skin, reducing fine lines and wrinkles.
When the platelet plasma is injected into the skin, the platelets release their growth factors. The growth factors stimulate other cells surrounding the injection site, plumping them up and causing them to increase in volume. The platelet plasma sends out signals to other cells in the body when it is injected, telling them to rush forward to the injection site. One cell that is stimulated during the process is the fibroblast cell, which is the cell type that creates collagen. Collagen is what gives skin a youthful appearance. As we age, collagen is produced less and less, causing wrinkles and fine lines in the skin, and therapies such as PRP therapy that stimulate collagen production can counteract this. Another cell stimulated during the process is the pre-adipocyte cell, which is a cell type that can convert into a fat cell, which is especially important in the face to fill out lines and to contour the face.
PRP therapy can be used on the face, particularly around the eyes, mouth and nose, the backs of the hands, and all over the body, more commonly the décolletage and even the knees to give skin a more youthful and radiant appearance.
What happens during a PRP treatment?
During your first visit to a clinic, you should explain what you expect from PRP Therapy and how you would like to look afterwards. Your practitioner should discuss any potential problems connected with the treatment based on your medical history.
The practitioner should take a medical history to make sure that there are no reasons why you shouldn’t have the treatment. Then you will usually be asked to read detailed information and sign a consent form which means that you have understood what the treatment may do, along with any potential side effects.
Photographs may also be taken by the practitioner for a “before and after” comparison of the treatment.
10 to 20 minutes before your procedure, your practitioner will draw 10-20ml of blood. This is done in a similar way to when you have blood taken for testing at the doctor’s office.
The blood will then be spun in a centrifuge to separate the platelet plasma from the red blood cells using one of the branded systems described.
Any makeup on the skin will be removed using a wipe, and antiseptic will be applied to the injection site. Depending on your practitioner, a topical local anaesthetic will then be applied to the skin of the injection site. The PRP will then be injected into the skin in the desired area using a very fine needle. Injections will be given multiple times in multiple locations in order to give an overall improvement to the area.
An ice pack may then be pressed onto the treated site to reduce any swelling. You will then be free to leave and go about your daily business. The whole procedure usually takes about 30 minutes.
It may take a few weeks for the results of the PRP therapy to become visible, but with two to three top-up treatments, you can expect the results of PRP therapy to last for up to one and a half years.

Sometimes referred to as the ‘non-surgical facelift’, the Thread Lift is a minimally-invasive treatment that lifts sagging areas of the face without the need for sedation or a hospital stay. It is performed under local anaesthetic and takes as little as 30 minutes, with patients able to walk-out and return home a short while after.
A thread lift can help improve the appearance of sagging cheeks, deep lines and wrinkles, jowls, loss of facial volume, forehead wrinkles and even offer jaw line redefinition. The procedure involves lifting different parts of the face using specialised threads without the need for surgical incisions.
The benefits of a thread lift include instant and long lasting results, minimal downtime, an increase in natural collagen production and no stitches required.
At The Private Clinic we offer two types of thread lift; Silhouette Soft Thread Lift and PDO Thread Lift.
The Thread Lift (or suture lift) is a revolutionary treatment to tackle sagging skin or lines and wrinkles, without the use of any incisions or surgery. Anchoring sutures are placed under the skin using a fine needle to elevate the sagging tissue and lift problem areas. The treatment can take as little as 30 minutes under local anaesthetic and requires no hospital stay afterwards.
The sutures used in the treatment are completely bio-degradable, meaning they will not need to be removed. Their principle component, polylactic acid, encourages the body’s production of collagen, meaning your skin will appear naturally fuller over time, even after the sutures have dissolved.
PDO Thread Lift Treatment
A PDO Thread Lift uses cogged polydioxanone threads which is the same material used in medical stitches which dissolve naturally into the body over time.
Before your procedure you will have had local anaesthetic into the area being treated. A small entry point will be made usually near the ear and then fine threads are guided through the skin against the pre-marked contours of the face lifting your skin into a new position. New collagen will develop around the threads which work to keep them in place and provide natural support to the skin once the thread is naturally absorbed by the body.
PDO threads are designed to tighten and lift sagging skin and can help to lift the entire face. PDO threads are also particularly effective at adding definition and contouring the lower jaw, eyebrows, neck and cheek.
You will notice an immediate result after PDO Thread treatment and this will continue to develop over time as new collagen is produced. The effects of a PDO Thread Lift can last from 6 months up until 2 years.
Results after a Silhouette Soft thread lift are instant but results will continue to improve over time as the collagen is stimulated meaning the best results are often seen a few weeks after treatment. The visible effects of the Silhouette Soft thread lift can last up to 18-24 months.
Downtime after a Thread Lift treatment is minimal, but you may experience some very slight bruising or swelling in the days following your procedure and some mild tension in the areas that have been elevated. Your doctor will give you individual advice tailored to your lifestyle to ensure your recovery is as quick and easy as possible.
High Intensity Focused Ultrasound also known as ‘3D SkinMed’, ‘Ultrasound Facelift’ or ‘Ultherapy’ has become one of the most sought after lifting treatments for face and neck.
3D SkinMed is a one-off treatment which will help you achieve tighter, firmer, lifted skin!*
The key advantages of this treatment are:
Stimulates natural collagen production
No cuts to the skin
No recovery time
Once per year treatment
One session of 3D SkinMed will deliver visible effects in lifting and tightening. It will also create new collagen which will help your skin maintain its youthful glow.*
Individually it targets brow, jowl and neck lifting, as well as overall skin tightening and rejuvenation. You will see a noticeable improvement in facial contouring, fine lines and wrinkles
Ulthera or Ultherapy is a non-invasive ultrasound energy that generates low levels of heat in the targeted skin. This stimulates the cells for collagen production and tissue rejuvenation. With just one treatment, HIFU pushes mature skin to start working hard again.
Smoother, firmer, and brighter skin in the months after one treatment. Your eyes will look more open, brows more lifted, fine lines softened, and pore reduced. Because of the restored elasticity, your skin will feel softer and more supple, improving:
