Laser Teeth Whitening

What is Laser Teeth Whitening?

During the Laser Teeth Whitening procedure a rubber dam is put over your teeth to protect the gums, and a bleaching product is painted onto your teeth. Then a light or laser is shone on the teeth to activate the chemical. The light speeds up the reaction of the whitening product and the colour change can be achieved more quickly. Laser whitening is said to make teeth up to five or six shades lighter.

The following are the benefits you can get from laser teeth whitening:

  • Speed
  • Guaranteed results
  • Long lasting
  • Relatively painless procedure

Treatment

Our trained beautician will first undertake a comprehensive examination of the customer’s teeth and gums to assess suitability. The intense light will then be directed at the teeth, which is designed to reduce yellow staining and return teeth to their natural colour. The whole whitening session itself lasts around an hour with the whitening taking place in three 15 minute sections.

Results

Side effects to laser teeth whitening and other forms of bleaching are usually temporary. You might experience temporary sensitivity to cold or hot products, tender gums, sore throat or white patches may appear on the gums. If these side effects do not disappear after a few days, you may consult your dentist. Risks of teeth whitening are minimal. However, always consult your dentist before opting for any teeth whitening procedure.
